John Stankevitch is a former professional rugby league

Rangers. He also led the first team to a televised victory against Toulouse Olympique
in which the team won by 72-0. John also led the team through the group stages of the Northern Rail Cup and the club went on to win the Cup later in that year. Although a brief spell, John is Widnes' most successful coach of all time based on % wins at 80%. John left the club in June 2009 after the club reverted to part-time after some disastrous results under their new Head Coach. John spent a short spell as backs coach at Rugby Union Championship side Rotherham Titans, before joining Rochdale Hornets
in Championship 1 in November 2009 as Head Coach. John also spent time during 2010 as Director of Rugby at Priestley College
in Warrington
and as a sports lecturer. John signed a new contract with Rochdale Hornets in September 2011 for a further 2 years, after guiding the club to a Play Off finishing position in both 2009 and 2010. John is regarded as one of the brightest young coaches in the Professional game, and was rewarded for his reputation with the new role of Director of Rugby at Rochdale Hornets, as well as joining the Board as a Director. In October 2011, John was appointed as Performance Coaching Consultant with Russia Rugby League for their World Cup Qualifying fixtures against Italy, Lebanon and Serbia.
