Political life
Stevenson has been heavily involved in Carlisle and North Cumbria politics for nearly 15 years. He has been chairman of the Carlisle Constituency Association as well as Penrith and the Border. He is presently the chairman of the North Cumbria Conservatives which is a federation of the four North Cumbria Constituencies. Stevenson was a Councillor on the Carlisle City Council from 1999 until he resigned shortly after his election as Member of Parliament.Alternative medicine
