. He was ordained in 1871 and was a curate
at St Mary’s Bury St Edmunds. Later he was Vicar
of St James’ Bury St Edmunds then Rural Dean
of St George's, Hanover Square. After this he was Vicar
of St Peter’s Eaton Square
for 30 years until he became the Dean of Rochester in 1913.
His eldest son was the Foreign and Colonial Office
