John Veres

John G. Veres III is the chancellor of Auburn Montgomery (AUM).
In October 1982, Veres became Director of Center for Business and Economic Development, a position he held until March 2000, concurrent with a number of other positions. From November 1986 until July 1987 he was Acting Dean of Continuing Education; from February 2000 to August 2005 he was Professor of Information Systems and Decision Sciences, and in March 2000 he became Executive Director of the Office of University Outreach, until June 2006 .
Since 2006, Veres has served as the Chancellor of AUM.

As a management expert, he has delivered testimony in a lawsuit concerning racial discrimination in the workplace, served as a consultant to a government accountability group (The Alabama Commission on Government Accountability), and selected by Alabama governor Bob Riley
to serve on the Alabama Governor's Commission for Action in Alabama's Black Belt in 2004.
AUM Biography
John G. Veres has been at AUM for over three decades. Veres started at AUM as a student in 1972. From October 1976 to March 1977 Veres was the Research and Training Assistant for Auburn University at Montgomery. From June 1978 to November 1979 he was Research Associate for the Alabama Merit System Test Validation Project, Center for Government and Public Affairs at Auburn University at Montgomery. From November 1979 to September 1982 he was a Research Associate in the Center for Government and Public Affairs at Auburn University at Montgomery, and was the Acting Assistant Director from August 1981 to May 1982. From September 1982 to September 1985, Veres was Assistant Professor of Management at Auburn University at Montgomery.In October 1982, Veres became Director of Center for Business and Economic Development, a position he held until March 2000, concurrent with a number of other positions. With Ronald Sims, Veres is the author of a number of publications on management and the influence of the Americans with Disabilities Act, and edited (also with Sims) Keys to Employee Success in Coming Decades (1999),reviewed in HR Magazine.
