Jordan Parise

Jordan Robert Parise is an American professional ice hockey

who is currently working with a professional tryout contract with the New York Rangers
of the National Hockey League
. He is the son of former NHL player J. P. Parisé and the older brother of current Devils player Zach Parise
.
Jordan played two seasons in the United States Hockey League
with the Chicago Steel
and Waterloo Blackhawks
before entering the University of North Dakota
. He played three seasons with the Fighting Sioux
, leaving as the school's all-time leader in goals against average
(2.14).
Parise was signed to a contract by the New Jersey Devils
on July 14, 2006. He played with the Devils' American Hockey League
affiliate, the Lowell Devils
, for 2 seasons from 2006 to 2008. Two of his former teammates were Stephen Gionta
and Mike Pandolfo
; all of their brothers (Zach Parise
, Brian Gionta
, and Jay Pandolfo
) played for the Devils in the NHL
during that time, marking possibly the first time three sets of brothers played for the same system simultaneously. After a hip injury severely hampered his game in 2007-2008, he was forced to sign overseas. In the 2008-2009 season he played in Austria
for EC Red Bull Salzburg. Parise returned to North America for the 2009-10 ECHL season. He signed with the Wheeling Nailers
and was primarily used as a backup goalie, seeing only 13 appearances during the season. Parise finished the season with Klagenfurt AC
of the EBHL.
Parise has signed a professional tryout contract with the NHL's New York Rangers. If he does not make the team, Parise has the option of returning to Klagenfurt for the 2010-11 season.
