Mar Joseph Kundukulam was the first Metropolitan Archbishop of Syro-Malabar Catholic Archdiocese of Thrissur from (1970 - 1997). Kundukulam was succeeded by Mar Jacob Thoomkuzhy. Kundukulam retired as Archbishop in 1997 and died at Wamba
