Career
Martin studied law at his family's law firm and was admitted to the bar. He was active in civic affairs and was a member of the local school board. Martin served as a member of the Wisconsin State Assembly from 1903 to 1904. Later he would serve as Justice of the Wisconsin State Supreme Court.
