Joshua Clark Davis (born September 1, 1972 in San Antonio, Texas
) is a former freestyle
swimmer from the United States
who was team captain in 2000, he won five medals as a member of US Men's Relay Teams: three golds at the 1996 Summer Olympics
in Atlanta, Georgia
, and two silvers four years later at the 2000 Summer Olympics
in Sydney, Australia. He missed the 2004 Olympic team.
In February 2009 four of Davis' Olympic medals—three gold medals and one silver medal—were stolen from his car after he returned from a swim clinic in St. Louis. He is offering a reward for their return.
On Friday February 13, 2009 cleanup crews in San Antonio outside one of the Salvation Army's Boys and Girls Clubs found the medals. The medals, three gold medals from the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta and a silver from the 2000 Sydney Games, were returned to Davis at a news conference later that night.
Davis and wife Shantel have five children.
