football goalkeeper who currently plays for Cruz Azul in the Primera División de México
.
in 2002, being an important and vital goalkeeper for Atlas. Playing 47 games from 2002 to 2004, he was transferred to Tecos UAG in 2004. He is also well remembered for his stunning performance against Boca Juniors
when he played for Chivas de Guadalajara on loan in the 2005 edition of Copa Libertadores.
On June 16, 2009, Corona signed with Cruz Azul for 3 years. That same year he helped Cruz Azul reach the league final against CF Monterrey, finishing runners-up.
, and was called up to represent his country at the 2006 World Cup
as the second-choice goalkeeper. He did not play in any of Mexico's four games. In 2007 former coach Hugo Sánchez
included him in the 23-man squad for the CONCACAF Gold Cup
as the third-choice goalkeeper.
He was originally chosen to represent Mexico in the 2011 Gold Cup
as one of the goalkeepers, but after he participated in a fight in the 2nd leg of the Semifinals of the Clausura 2011 between his team Cruz Azul and the Monarcas Morelia, José Manuel de la Torre, coach of the Mexico national football team, decided to cut him from the squads participating the 2011 Gold Cup and the 2011 Copa América
due to violent conduct. He was replaced in the squads by Jonathan Orozco
. Corona also won't be able to play the first 6 games in the 2011 Apertura season. Yosgart Gutierrez
will replace the suspended Corona
