Joy "The Jet" Ali is Fiji's most prominent boxer at this time. He has fought several fights with well known boxers. As for 2009-2010 he is looking for a world title fight with Anthony Mundine
. Ali was once ranked 13th in the world. In October 2005, he was ranked 15th by the WBA
in the Super welterweight division. He beat Gary Comers for the PABA
title.
He made his debut in 1995 against Raven Singh whim he defeated in the 4th round by a KO
. He won all the titles since then and he even had a chance for the PABA light middleweight title which he took after defeating former world amateur bronze medalist Ercüment Aslan
of Turkey. In December 2005, he was up against his biggest opponent, Javier Mamani from Argentina who was ranked 9th in the World at that time. A win would have guaranteed Joy a World title bout in the WBA
