in the Australia
n soap opera
Home and Away
, played by Joel Phillips.
Jules was Drew Curtis's friend from boarding school who arrived in town on a stolen motorbike and attempted to crack onto both Belle Taylor
and Leah Patterson-Baker. He was caught throwing the license plates to the bike into the Diner skip by Belle and when Drew confronted him, he admitted the truth and then guilt tripped Drew into keeping quiet.
He tried to get close to Lily Nelson but was thwarted by Cassie Turner
and was forced to meet her in secret. They were walking on the beach when Lily heard Matilda Hunter scream and dove into the water to rescue her while Jules stood in shock watching them. Ric arrived and went to the girls rescue, he rescued Matilda but lost Lily who was unconscious by the time he reached her. Lily was taken to hospital as Ric berated Jules for standing by rather than helping them.
He stole alcohol but let Drew take the blame. He confided in Drew that he had been out in a boat with his girlfriend when it capsized and he was unable to rescue her and she drowned. He then left town rather than face Lily but was dragged back by Peter and given a home by Dan and Leah provided he went to school.
His first day at school went badly when Cassie discovered a letter to Lily in which he told her honestly how he felt. Furious at Cassie having read something private he publicly humiliated her with a series of posters portraying her as 'Saint Cassie'. He then ruined her assignment presentation by mimicking her and when Belle defended her he ruined her presentation by photocopying his backside onto the handouts she had made. She retaliated by taking the leg off his chair but he saw what was happening and swapped his chair with Brad's landing him, Belle, Cassie and Drew in detention.
The tension quickly thawed in detention and when Cassie slipped and hurt her ankle Jules was quick to assist her and it seemed that they might actually like each other. He offered to take her for a driving lesson but then rigged Brad's car so that it broke down and as Cassie cuddled up to him they shared a kiss before being interrupted by a furious Alf Stewart
. When Cassie found out about Jules rigging the car she reacted furiously but Jules was convinced he could talk her round and persuaded Drew to have a birthday party on the beach so they could both get Belle and Cassie back.
His plan worked to a point until Drew drunkenly cheated on Belle and Cassie and Jules were caught kissing once more by Alf. He attempted to impress Cassie by stripping down to his boxers on a bed in a caravan but she was distinctly unimpressed when she found him whilst showing Alex around. He became increasingly jealous by how swayed Cassie was by Alex Poulos
, Leah's brother and stole Alex's bike before crashing it. He tried to get drew to give him an alibi but when he collapsed due to injuries sustained in the crash, Drew came clean.
Facing a criminal record Jules blamed everybody but himself but was grateful when Drew convinced Alex to drop the charges against him. It was too little too late for Dan and Leah though who insisted he had to return home. He briefly saw Cassie and apologised to her, telling her he really liked her before departing the bay.
A week or so later Drew, Belle and Cassie went for a swim in Belle's mother, Amanda Vale
's pool and found Jules hiding out. He told them his parents had not wanted him back at home and had packed him off with a cheque to replace Alex's bike. He was eventually allowed a caravan at the caravan park. He seemed on edge when Drew's mother Jazz arrived in town and tried to convince Drew not to give her a chance but Jazz overheard and blackmailed her over the fact that he had made a pass at her years earlier. He attempted to ignore her demands and concentrated on Cassie's birthday but when Jazz went through with her threat and told Cassie, neither she nor Drew would believe anything he said. Devastated, he left town.
