Forrest "Junior" Daugherty (born July 19, 1930 in Alamogordo

) has been ranked among the top five fiddlers in the United States over a fifteen year period. He won the New Mexico state fiddling championship eight years, also the Southwest Regional Champion and he is in the New Mexico Fiddler’s Hall of Fame. Over the last sixty years has performed at Cowboy poetry
events and at Carnegie Hall
, and has taught in fiddle workshops.
Daugherty has been married twice and has three daughters. He is a resident of Piñon, New Mexico
, and has a B.S. in engineering from the University of New Mexico

He also collaborated on ten albums, and has played back-up on many others.
Daugherty is also a song writer. Twelve of his compositions are found on the CD "Lights of Piñon", including "Death Valley Waltz" and "Junior's Waltz".
