radio station
based in Albuquerque, New Mexico
, United States of America. Its broadcasts are primarily of classical music
, with frequent selections drawn from musical theatre
, interspersed among the classical pieces. Its main broadcast is on 95.5 MHz licensed to Santa Fe
. Its broadcasts are also passed through several repeater stations
to extend its range, and in addition, are available on-line by way of the station's web site (see following section). In late summer 2008 KHFM changed its format to (in theory) light classics. Generally only portions of pieces would be played, with a limited repertory. Most of its long-time staff were fired overnight, and its syndicated programs were cancelled. By 2011, the station was relying more and more heavily on simply playing music interspersed with ads and no announcer.

KHFM had existed for many years on 96.3 FM, but in March 2001 Citadel Broadcasting
, the stations parent company at the time, had planned to drop the format in favor of classic rock. American General Media had agreed to pick up the format for 95.5 displacing a rhythmic oldies station called "Mega 95.5". The 102.9 translator in northeast Albuquerque was added in late 2005 to improve the stations coverage in the area where the 95.5 signal can be hard to pick up.
