. It was established in 1961 by the then-vice chancellor of the Kwame Nkrumah University Of Science and Technology. The school was setup to help with the education of the kids of the lecturers of the University who found themselves in campus housing. The school later opened up admission to the general public in the course of its operations to help with the platform of high school education in the region. KNUST Senior High School is a Second Class A Institution according to the West African Examination Council

STAFF AND STUDENTS

Head mistress : Mrs. Joyce Owusu Ansah
It is a coeducational school, with an enrollment of about 900 boys and 1010 girls. Approximately 600 students graduate each year.

The school offers courses in General arts, Visual arts, General science, Business, and Home Science. Mrs. Joyce Ansah is the headmistress in the school, she took office in 2009. The school boasts of a staff of 66 teachers and 21 non-teaching staff.

44.1% of 531 students qualified for tertiary education in 2008.

66.4% of 528 students qualified for tertiary education in 2009.
