. The website of The CW referred to a "Laredo CW" coming to the Laredo market. http://www.cwtv.com/stations weeks before the launch. TV listings show that KTXW would carry CW programming after the launch on September 18, 2006; KTXW has since been confirmed as a CW affiliate.

In October 2008, KGNS began to air KTXW on digital subchannel 8.2 making it free to all homes in Laredo and Nuevo Laredo.
