History

KWFC-FM began broadcasting on April 17, 1969 with Bill Askew as the first station manager. In 1980, one of the announcers was Russ Ivison, now a missionasry in England. The news director was Robert Compsty-Cummings, and the news reporter was Terry Walker. KWFC-FM began broadcasting on 97.3 MHz. That frequency was sold in the mid-1980s to KXUS
