Rise and Shine launched on KWFS-AM in 1993. Joe Tom White has been a radio personality in Wichita Falls since 1959, beginning his career at KWFT-AM 620. Mike Campbell has co-hosted since the shows inception. White and Campbell spent a short time on-air together at KGTM 990 (formerly KNIN-AM) in the mid-1980s and from 1985 to 1990 hosted "Country Morning" on KAUZ TV-6. Mike Hendren joined the "Rise and Shine" show in August 2001 as a fill-in producer but began taking on a larger role on the program in 2002. Hendren also serves as the stations Program Director. It is now the longest-running locally produced daily program on air in Wichita Falls. KWFS-AM 1290 is the oldest, continuously broadcasting radio station in the city, having been on-air since 1940.
