History

An original construction permit to build a low power television station was granted to Venture Technologies Group on November 7, 1991. The station, to be constructed on channel 31, was given the callsign K31CK. After several modifications and expired construction permits, the station was licensed on September 5, 1997. The next month, the station changed its call letters to KWTA-LP. In April 2006, the station filed a displacement application with the FCC
