. The building was built in 1908 and was added to the National Register of Historic Places

on September 19, 1977. The building was razed in 1978 due to deterioration. The icehouse operated from 1908 through 1955 on the shore of Kaatz Pond and Whitney Avenue.

The building, despite being gone for 32 years, remains NRHP-listed, apparently, as the required paperwork to remove it has not been completed.

The building was documented in a NRHP application in 1977.
