Kaliro District is a district
in Eastern Uganda
. It was created out of the eastern part of Kamuli District
in 2006, and is now a fully fledged district. Like most other Uganda

Demographics
The 2002 Uganda National Census put the population in the district at approximately 154,700 of whom 49.5% were males and 50.5% were females. The annual population growth rate in the district was estimated at 5.1%. It is estimated that by 2010, the population in the district had risen to about 230,400 people.
