Kamal Karunanayake former MP
servrving as a People's Alliance
nominated MP from 1989 to 1994.
After obtaining a BA (Hons) degree in Economics from the Peradeniya University in 1962 he received a doctorate from the Birmingham University in England in 1969. He retired as the Professor of Economics and the Director of the Centre for Development Studies of the University of Kelaniya in 2002.
Since November 2006, he has been serving as the Senior Presidential Advisor in Economics making a great contribution in the formulation of the Mahinda Chintana policy.
