After being defeated and humiliated by former student Itō Ittōsai, Jisai renews his conviction to the sword after taking the life of a semi-feudal lord by the name of Fudo. From this point on, Jisai reopens a school of swordsmanship and unknowingly bequeaths all of his techniques to Kojirō through constant sparring with his pupil.
