Kankakee Valley Middle School is a rural school teaching grades 7-8.
Each grade consists of two groups of classrooms, referred to as "pods" by the school.

Future movement

Due to an overall population expansion within the school corporation,
construction began in 2009 on a new middle school building, located on the
grounds of the current Kankakee Valley Intermediate School. All physical education and art classes have been canceled in the school corporation for grades K-12 due to budget cuts.
