Kappad, or Kappakadavu locally, is famous as the beach near Kozhikode
(Calicut), India

landed on May 20, 1498. His voyage established the sea route from Europe to India. This heralded the arrival and permanent presence of various European merchant companies, leading to eventual domination and rule

And also u can see a very old temple on a big rock (URAPOTTUM KAVU)which is projected in the see.u can enjoy the total view of kappad from there.
