Roden's father and grandfather were also actors. After studying theatrical art in Prague
he has played many roles in theatres and movies. First, he graduated school of ceramic, then he was admitted to the Academy of Performing Arts. The 90th Region followed the departure flight to Great Britain (1993 - 1994), where Karel Roden improved his English and attended acting classes.
The path to the first role in an American psychological thriller, 15 Minutes
was not easy, as far as the shootings have been preceded by intensive competition, but he eventually got the part of criminal Emil Slovak. In this film he starred with Robert De Niro. Another negative role - a lawyer at the service of a vampire clan - went to the movie Blade II
but to make matters even worse, there was yet another negative character:in the action movie Bulletproof Monk
, Karel Roden acts as evil and insane Nazi Strucker. Due to his heavy accent, his voice was dubbed over by another actor in Blade II.
