Karin Park is a Swedish
(born on September 1978 in Djura
), singer-songwriter who lives in Oslo, Norway and Djura, Sweden.
Park has always been noted for her characteristic voice, but her music has developed from a light pop to a deep, alternative electro with darker lyrics in a collaboration with Datarock’s Fredrik Saroea on her third album Ashes To Gold (2009).
Park was also involved in the singing competition for the official song of the 2008 Summer Olympics
in China
, together with the Chinese group Pulse.
Karin Park has continued to develop the alternative beat driven, industrial pop electronica in England, where she, in 2010, signed a new deal with the Portsmouth label State Of The Eye. There she started working on a new set of songs with her brother David Park and the young producer Barry Barnett. In 2011 she took a number of these new songs to the producer Christoffer Berg (The Knife and Fever Ray) and the first result of this collaboration was the single ”Tiger Dreams” released in August 2011.
Tiger Dreams is slated to be followed by an EP in September 2011 and a new album tentatively called ”Highwire Poetry” in February 2012.
Karin Park performs live together with her brother David Park.
