region Trentino-Alto Adige/Südtirol, located about 70 km northeast of the city of Trento
and about 20 km northeast of the city of Bolzano (Bozen).
As of 30 November 2010, it had a population of 6,456 and an area of 117.8 km². According to the 2001 census, 81.83% of the population speak German, 14.74% Ladin
and 3.43% Italian as first language.
