In the 2005-2006 season, Orscher broke her foot over the summer and they missed a great deal of training time. At the 2006 United States Figure Skating Championships, they won the short program, but dropped and placed 3rd overall. They missed making the Olympic team by 0.66 points.

Orscher and Lucash retired from competitive skating in 2006.
