At the 2008 U.S. Figure Skating Championships, she placed 6th, and was the third-highest-placing Worlds-age-eligible skater. Hacker was not selected for the World Championships in favor of former World Champion Kimmie Meissner
, but was selected to compete and made her senior international debut at the 2008 Four Continents Figure Skating Championships
, where she was the top finisher among the American ladies.
Hacker was selected for the 2008 U.S. Figure Skating Scholastics Honors Team and deferred her admission into Princeton University
