Personal life

Messing graduated through the Interior Distance Education of Alaska in May 2010. His hobbies include playing the piano and yo-yoing and he enjoys anything active and outdoors such as skiing, mountain biking, water skiing, hiking, camping, snowshoeing, etc. His younger brother, Paxon, is a competitive snowboarder and has qualified for the USASA National Championships the last three years. Messing supports the Girdwood Forest Fair, a craft fair that raises money for nonprofit organizations and families in his community, Little Bears Playhouse, and Challenge Alaska (an alternative ski program).
