As a Junior and Senior, Keith was All-League in football and as a Senior was voted El Camino Real League’s Most Valuable Lineman and earned recognition from the United Savings Helms Athletic Foundation of All Southern California High School Football First Team. In 1972 Keith was also nominated Crespi High School Football Team’s Most Valuable Player and recently (2008) Keith was inducted into the Crespi Athletic Hall of Fame.

, Keith was an offensive lineman playing center and guard. As a Junior, he played on the team that defeated Ohio State in the 1976 Rose Bowl championship game. As a senior, Keith earned Honors as Second-Team All Pac 8 as well as the UCLA award for Most Improved Player.

professional football team and was placed on injured reserve for the 1977 season. The following year Keith returned to UCLA to coach the offensive tackles and tight-ends. In 1979 Keith played for the New York Giants, backing up former all-pro Jim Clack at Center as well as being the special teams snapper for punts and field goals. In 1980 his football career ended abruptly when he suffered a heart attack on an airplane en route to his first pre-season training camp for his second year with the New York Giants.

Shortly thereafter, Keith entered the financial services industry working for a pension firm, where his responsibilities included design and implementation of retirement plans for business owners throughout California. During his tenure Keith developed a passion for assisting business owners with achieving their succession goals. In 1990 Keith founded Keith Eck Financial & Insurance Services to pursue this passion.

Community service

Active in his community, Keith has been involved with the San Diego Make-A-Wish Foundation for over 15 years as a former member of the Board of Directors as well as a volunteer. Currently Keith has rejoined the Board of Directors for the San Diego Make-A-Wish Foundation. Keith is also a Co-Founder of the Scripps Hospital STAR (Stroke Treatment And Recovery program) in San Diego, and is a former branch board president and executive board member of the San Dieguito Boys & Girls Club.

Personal

Keith resides in La Costa, California, with his wife, Marcela, and their three children. He enjoys spending time with his family, and his hobbies include surfing, skiing, and occasionally playing golf.
