Although he always enjoyed performing, putting on shows for his family members and performing on the school news in high school, it wasn't until college that Saltojanes started pursuing acting and receiving formal training. He attended the University of Central Florida

After graduating, Saltojanes performed in several independent films, improvisational groups, theatre shows, as well as writing and producing a number of original theatre shows, the most notable being Melvin Gelvin: The Almost Musical.
