From 1970-1973 he was also on the FIFA list. On international level he officiated in October and November 1972 two qualification matches for the World Cup 1974 in which Yogoslavia drew with Spain and Belgium drew with Netherlands. Earlier that year he also was referee in three matches of the Brazilian Independence Cup and served there also as linesman of the final in which Brazil prevailed 1-0 over Portugal.

Late October 1972 he announced his retirement from refereeing to take up a post as secretary with Sheffield United FC.
