Kellie Connolly

Kellie Connolly (born 5 January 1973) is a Australian journalist.
Connolly was the presenter of the Nine Network's Nightline and also was an interim co-host of Today
in 2007.

She later moved to ABC TV in Adelaide where she was a reporter and Weekend Newsreader. She later joined Ten News
as a reporter and fill-in presenter, before moving to Sydney.
Kellie joined the Nine Network
in 1997 as a reporter for both A Current Affair and Money
. In 1999, Kellie joined A Current Affair as an official reporter, reporting on many different stories on life, health and real life events.
Kellie became a full time news presenter at the Nine Network
after a number of occasions filling in on the National Nine Early News and Nightline. In 2006 she was appointed permanent presenter of National Nine News Afternoon Edition, replacing Mike Munro
.
In April 2007, Kellie moved to co-hosting Today
working with Karl Stefanovic
as the replacement co-host for Jessica Rowe
, who was on maternity leave at the time however Rowe announced that she was leaving the Nine Network
on 6 May 2007. Various press outlets had speculated that Connolly would be poached by rival network Seven as a new co-host for Weekend Sunrise
(a position eventually vacated by Connolly's Today replacement, Lisa Wilkinson

On the 10 May 2007 episode of Today
, Connolly collapsed on air. She collapsed about 8:10am during a cooking segment with Tobie Puttock
, of Jamie Oliver
fame. It was reported that she was okay after the incident and Connolly returned to the presenters desk about 15 minutes later, attributing the dizzy spell to her 3am wake-up call.
Connolly finished up her co-hosting duties for Today
on 25 May 2007 as Lisa Wilkinson
took over her hosting duties as of 28 May 2007. It was reported shortly after that she was one of the contenders to have been offered the role of Nine News co-anchor in Adelaide
following the death of Kevin Crease
.
On 18 June 2007, Connolly returned as presenter of the National Nine News Afternoon Edition. Later in 2007, she began also presenting National Nine News Morning Edition.
From January 2008, Connolly was on maternity leave. She returned to presenting the Nine's Morning News in September 2008.
In October 2009, Nine announced that Connolly would shift to reading Nightline, with Wendy Kingston
moving to present Nine's Morning News Hour.
Connolly was also a fill in presenter for Nine News Sydney.
In July 2010, Nine announced Nightline had been axed immediately with reporters who were on duty presenting late news updates. Nine offered Connolly a redundancy package after 13 years at the Nine Network
