The Kenyan Premier League is the first division football league in Kenya. It was formed in 1963 under the Kenya Football Federation but is now controlled by Football Kenya Limited....
was sponsored by South Africa -based satellite television channel Supersport, meaning that the league was broadcast live on TV after several years and offered financial benefits . Sixteen teams took part and Mathare United won its first league title.
