  nuclear engineer and senior manager at the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) in Washington, DC, USA.

Greenaugh manages over one and a half billion-dollar program in nuclear deterrent research and development. He is responsible for the development of computer models and for conducting research and testing at world-class experimental facilities. He has developed national policy for NNSA and is one of the highest-ranking officials involved in the nuclear deterrent.

Early life and education

Greenaugh was born in Burderop Park, England later moved to Augusta, Georgia. and graduated from Glenn Hills High School in Augusta, Georgia in 1973. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from Mercer University; Master of Science degree in Nuclear Engineering from the University of New Mexico (Albuquerque); Master of Arts degree in Public Policy from the University of New Mexico (Santa Fe); Post-Masters studies at the University of Arizona; and his Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Nuclear Engineering at the University of Maryland (UMD). Dr. Greenaugh was the first African-American to receive a PhD. in Nuclear Engineering at UMD.

Awards

Kevin Greenaugh, PhD. was named Black Engineer of the Year for achievement in government by Career Communications and cited at the A. James Clark School of Engineering, University of Maryland in 2006.

Kevin Greenaugh is a member of Omega Psi Phi fraternity Gamma Zeta chapter.
