Tserkezie gave up a degree course in Combined Arts at the University of Sunderland
to take up a TV presenting role for BBC2. She worked for a number of years as a TV and radio presenter/researcher before moving into acting. She is best known for her role as Penny Pocket in the BBC children's TV series Balamory
, but has also appeared as Paula Simms in ITV's Blind Ambition and her theatre experience includes Alan Bennett's 'Habeas Corpus' at Live Theatre in Newcastle.
She is represented by International Artistes, London.
(SMA) type III and has been a wheelchair user most of her life. She was voted "best representation of a wheelchair user" by children's organisation Whizz Kidz in 2005.
