Guilfoyle served as an Assistant District Attorney at the San Francisco District Attorney's Office from 2000 to 2004. While Assistant D.A., she earned a conviction in the 2002 case People v. Noel and Knoller, a second-degree murder trial involving a dog mauling, that received international attention. At the trial, Guilfoyle was "second chair" to lead prosecutor James Hammer.(p. 211)
In January 2004, Guilfoyle moved to New York to host the program Both Sides on Court TV, as well as to take a job as a legal analyst on Anderson Cooper 360.
Guilfoyle took over as host of the Fox News Channel
weekend show The Lineup on February 11, 2006. Fox re-launched the show with new music and graphics specifically as a vehicle for Guilfoyle. The Lineup was eventually canceled, but Guilfoyle remains a prominent personality at the channel. Currently she hosts the Wednesday through Friday 12PM to 1PM hour on FoxNews.com Live. Guilfoyle also is on The O'Reilly Factor
's recurring segment "Is it Legal?" and a Thursday guest on Brian Kilmeade
