, was born at Miriti, Kirnahar.
Kirnahar is the shrine of Maa Bhadra Kaali Tala which is a famous pilgrimage spot in the whole of Birbhum district.

Kirnahar Sarkar Baadi is home to Dr. Deb Kumar Sarkar"Debu" (born 1927)-an eminant homeopath who has been practicing in the town for over 55 years. His family which constitutes the Madhyam Taraf of the Trident Sarkar Family Tree is a devout worshipper of the family deity- Maa Jagat Dhhattri Devi.

Born in 1927 to Shri. Dhananjay Sarkar and Shrimati Shanti Debi, Debu grew up in his ancestral home which remains his home even till today. In the early part of his life , he took keen interest in the family managed business looking after the foodgrain and pharmacy retail businesses spread across Birbhum district which required him to travel frequently even to Kolkata. In 1948, 21-year old Debu was married to 16-year old Ira Devi belonging to an affluent "Bonedi & Barrister " family of Ballygunge, Calcutta. They had 2 children- Indrani Sarkar aka Mala(born 1951) and Dip Kumar Sarkar aka Dipu (born 1952). The Sarkar family has lived through many ups & downs- a phase mostly which began soon after WWII and lasted till the late 1960's. The Family business which was mainly a cluster of several fragmented family managed businesses started to wane with the onset of the unrest of the post-independence era extending till late 1960's. Also the untimely death of his father, left a 30 -something Debu emotionally battered with huge unaccounted debts and insolvency. His father-Shri. Dhananjay Sarkar, a renowned homeopath practitioner in the 40’s was highly regarded in his social circle, friends and peers. His magnanimity earned him the title'Dhanantari' meaning the 'The Great Selfless Giver'-a name bearing mythological significance to ‘Karna’. Much of Debu’s wisdom and depth in the subject of homeopathy can be attributed to his father's exemplary knowledge and application of the subject and his father's library to which he sought refuge during his endless days of struggle and which provided him mastery over the subject mostly after his father's death.
Debu's mother- Shrimati Shanti Debi Sarkar served as his primary source of inspiration throughout his life. He also had a sister-named Renu who was married to a Calcutta-based Businessman pimarily involved in sea-freight & shipping. They had 4 daughters and would frequently come down to Kirnanhar to visit their maternal uncle(Debu Mama).

In 1976, his (Debu's) then 24-year old daughter Indrani got married to the eldest son of Shri. Shyama Charan Chakraborty of Manteswar Gram-Burdhwan district. His then 29-yr old son-in-law- Shriman Binoy Kumar Chakraborty -a Mechanical Engineer from REC-Durgapur(NIT,Durgapur-Batch 1968) was posted at Trombay unit of RCF Ltd.(Mumbai). Indrani moved with her husband to RCF Colony in Chembur( Mumbai) soon after her marriage and they have a daughter(born 1978). In the following years, he has remained a doting grandfather to all his 3 grandchildren.
His son- Dip Kumar Sarkar enrolled for medical studies in the prestigious Calcutta Medical College during the early 70's. Upon earning an MBBS degree, Dr. Dip Kumar Sarkar married the beautiful daughter of a Bolepur elite. Her name was Mukta Ghosal (became Mrs. Mukta Sarkar after marriage)- Mukta was the youngest among all 24 siblings. An ardent Rabindra-sangeet fan she obtained her Bisaarat in Rabindra-sangeet from Vishwa-Bharati University, Shantiniketan. She inculcated her passion for Indian classical, Nazrul-Geeti & Rabindra Sangeet in her two talented daughters- Dipanwita Sarkar(born 1982) & Dipanjana Sarkar(born 1990). Her legend lives on through her musical teachings imparted to her two beautiful children.
Dr. Dip Kumar Sarkar was the first to install an X-Ray machine in the remote town of Kiranahar. He later moved his practice to Bolepur. Following the untimely demise of his wife in 2000, he often shuttled between Kirnahar and Bolepur to attend to his ever-growing patient-following in the district and neighbouring towns. He was highly regarded in the practice of orthopedics and has spent much of his life in Kirnahar until his sudden death due to heart-attack in 2003. His eldest daughter-Dipanwita was with him during his last few moments.
