Knox attended Bard College in the late 70's. He was generally regarded as a brilliant musician who was hard working and willing to experiment. In addition to his formal study of music within the division of AMDDFP (Art Music Drama Dance Film and Photography) he collaborated with all sorts of people from distinguished visiting professors to local artists. Knox distinguished himself as being one of the most humble and approachable artists on campus. He even took time to collaborate and discuss music theory with students from the department of Natural Science and Mathematics. The short lived Quantum Fusion Band featured Bill Van Riper (formerly of MIT) Eric Weisman (Formerly of Harvard University) and Rob Greenberg brought jazz improvisation from the practice halls of the music department to the science labs of the college. After graduating from Bard his professional career took off. Recent tours with Cindi Lauper and Lou Reed reflect his importance in the world of pop art.
