Geography

Konch(Hindi: कोंच ) is located at 25.98°N 79.15°E. It has an average elevation of 141 metres (462 feet). Konch is a small town in district Jalaun of Uttar Pradesh. There is one of the shortest Railway line of India(only for 13 km) with shortest shuttle of India between Konch and Ait Junction. You can reach to Konch by bus or by train from the nearest city in south Jhansi or in north Kanpur(both are at a distance of almost 100 km from the place). Ait is situated on the railway track between Jhansi and Kanpur, and from Ait you can easily get the shuttle from Ait to Konch.

Konch is now developing as per the present scenario. It is one of the centre of business in district Jalaun. It is a city with its history back in Ramayan era, this place has also been described in Vedas as a place famous for Presence of a number of Kronch birds. According to another source the town was named after Maharshi 'Kunch'.
