Koonimedu village was one of the oldest village in Villupuram. Initially it was filled up with HINDUS, later on and now there are nearly 30 of non-hindus living in koonimedu. The other name of koonimedu is chinna singapore or chinna kuwait this is because peoples from here are usually goto kuwait or singapore to earn.
