Korgalzhyn is a town in the Akmola Province

. The Nura River
slowly flows around the town. It is situated 120 km south-west of Astana

The city serves as the main and only base for entering the Saryarka — Steppe and Lakes of Northern Kazakhstan Unesco World Heritage site with Lake Tengiz
at its heart. Many foreigners, mostly birdwatchers from all over the world come to the town.
To visit the protected area of Korgalzhyn Nature Reserve, one first needs to visit the Korgalzhyn Museum and Administration Office where all necessary information and registration for a tour can be obtained. Another possibility to enter the reserve is to take a tour from one of the incoming travel agencies, usually situated in Astana
or Karaganda

Central Bus Station. You can see the timetable at the overhead monitors, destination Korgalzhyn. From Korgalzhyn, all buses and marshrutkas depart from the central place in front of the mosque. In the morning, they depart every full hour.
