Biography
Kosta Trifković, born on Danube Street (Dunavskoj ulici) in the city of Novi Sad on the 20th of October 1843, was the only child of Atanasije and Ane Trifković. He went to sea just before finishing high school, but his delicate health proved unequal to the task, and after two years sailing the seven seas he went to RijekaRijeka

His most popular dramatic pieces were Čestitam (1872), Školski nadzornik (1872), Francuski-pruski rat (1872), Izbiračica (1873), Ljubavno pismo (1874), Na Badnji dan (1876), Pola vina, pola vode (1776), Mila (1884), and Mladost Dositeja Obradovića (1894). He wrote 15 original plays (mostly comedies), and translated many foreign comedies for the Serbian theatre. Kosta Trifković's dramatic works have been translated into German, French, Italian, Hungarian, Slovenian, Bulgarian, and other languages.He died of consumption
