Kothrud, known Kothrud Baug in the era of the Peshwas, is a suburb in the south west of the city of Pune
, Maharashtra

. Situated relatively near the center of an industrializing city, it has seen rapid growth in housing, making it one of the fastest developing suburbs in Asia. Kothrud is one of the upmarket areas of Pune, with real estate prices being quite high, about Rs 4000 to 8000 per sq feet for an apartment.
Kothrud also saw Pune's first flyover, Savarkar flyover at Paud Phata, which connected Karve Road
to Paud Road.
Old landmarks in Kothrud include the Dashbhuja temple and the Mrityunjaya temple with history dating back to the Peshwa

Kothrud is serviced by the PMPML, and has two main bus depots - Kothrud Depot and Kothrud Stand.Buses connect it to other parts of Pune like Nigdi, Hadapsar, Railway station and Swargate.
