The bird park is part of the 60 hectares (148.3 acre) Lake Gardens, which were established in 1888. In addition to the 20.9 acres (8.5 ha) bird park, which was created in 1991, the gardens include an artificial lake, the National Monument, a Butterfly House, Orchid and Hibiscus gardens, and the former Malaysia Parliament House.Activities
