the sand is being eroded at a greater rate than it is accreted. Plans are underway to construct a quayside and artificial reef to protect the island.

At present the people of Kunburudhoo are planned to be transferred to H Dh Nolhivaranfaru with the people of Maavaidhoo and Faridhoo of the same atoll (September 2010)
