The settlement has grown at the railway station, which arose in 1915 during the construction of line Kazan - Yekaterinburg. According 1926 data population is 167. The name is borrowed from a neighboring village Kueda, which, in turn, got it from the river Kueda (formerly Kuyada – from Bashkir Okyady generic name).
