word ‘kvar-kush’ that literally means ‘naked (unforested) Ural’. Perhaps, this name was given because there are no forests at altitudes more 1,000 m and the landscape is a mountainous tundra and stone deposits. Name of mountain Vogulsky Kamen derived from name of Mansi people, which formerly was called ‘voguly’ by Russian people.
