The newspaper was originally distributed in the area of Gloucester County
. Even though the paper was written and edited in Caraquet, it was printed in Miramichi
by the Miramichi Leader Newspaper. Within its first three years, L'Acadie Nouvelle increased its readership from 5 700 to 12 000 copies.
After the creation of Acadie Presse Inc., a commercial printer, in 1988, the newspaper has been printed in Caraquet. L'Acadie Nouvelle and Acadie Presse Inc. merged in 2002.
In 1989, the newspaper hired permanent journalist in Campbellton
, Edmundston, Fredericton and Moncton. On September 5 of the same year, it extended the distribution to all of New Brunswick
. In 1992, an office was opened in Dieppe
to better serve southern New Brunswick.
Originally published from Monday to Friday, a weekend edition was added in August 2003 and is published on Saturdays. In 2006, its readership reached 21 700 during the week and 23 687 during the weekend.
